I was in Anthropologie and I happened to pick up this little gem this weekend. Isn’t it adorable?
I really needed something to organize my jewelry which is usually in little jewelry pouches which makes it difficult to keep inventory of all that I have. I love that everything can be out in the open visible and neat.
And here is another reason I need everything in plain view and I am kind of not proud of it. You see the pearl ring below, well I thought I had lost that and the ring attached to the pink ribbon which is not so visible. The pearl ring was a gift from my mother and it’s the only piece of jewelry my father ever gave her. And the ring on the ribbon is my grandmother’s and has her monogram on it. I used the ribbon to pin it to the inside of my wedding dress the day I got married. I wanted to have something of hers close to my heart since she was unable to attend being so debilitated at that point by a series of strokes and Parkinson’s disease. I can’t tell you the feeling of panic and disappointment in myself when I thought I misplaced them and potentially lost them forever. By having them more visible it is a constant reminder of two people I love and perhaps it will get me to where these pieces more often.
I am definitely getting another one to put the rest of my jewelry in. I am kind of bummed that I didn’t see the robin egg blue one in the store because I definitely would have snagged that one.
